Checklist
Workplace Health and Safety obligations cover a wide range of areas:
structure and stability of premises
temperature, ventilation and freshness of the air
hazardous materials and storage
safety of entrances and exits, including proper lighting and clear access
security from assaults by the public, or other workers
security from bullying and racial or gendered harassment
reasonable working hours that do not impact on health
safe working environments that do not create undue stress or other mental health issues
Covid safety provisions are in place
appropriate safety training and equipment
appropriate protective clothing such as masks, ear muffs, goggles, gloves
awareness of the location of first aid stations, emergency exits, fire evacuation procedures and fire extinguishers
first aid kit that is well stocked with clearly visible signage
fire safety measures, including fire hydrants, fire safety blankets and fire evacuation plan
slip and trip hazards are managed
